Rubber Hose Driveway Alarm

The wireless rubber hose transmitter is a battery operated sensor with a hose that lays on top of the ground. When a card drives over the hose a signal is sent to the receiver up to 1 mile away*.  The sensor runs on one 9 Volt battery (not included).

*Actual range will vary depending on the local terrain.
  • What's the difference between the DCRH-4k Plus and the DCRH-4000?

The difference is the receiver.  Both kits use the same DCHT-4000 sensor, but the DCRH-4000 includes the DCR-4000 receiver.  The DCR-4000 will play a chime/tune when the sensor is activated.  The receiver will only give a sound, there are no additional outputs.

The DCRH-4k Plus includes the RE-4k Plus receiver.  The RE-4k Plus will play a chime/tune when the sensor is activated but there are also two Form C (NO/NC) relay outputs as well as a 12 VDC output.  The outputs can be set to activate for 1, 5, 15 seconds or 5 minutes when the sensor is activated.  The outputs could be used to connect to a home automation panel or the 12 VDC could be used to power a bell or strobe light.

  • Why use a rubber hose over a probe system?

The DCHT-4000 is a wireless transmitter box with a 25’ hose attached.  The hose lays on the driveway and the transmitter box is mounted on a post nearby.  The hose will only detect a car driving over the hose.  People or animals walking nearby will not be detected.  There is a little more maintenance with the hose as it would need to be moved before plowing snow on the driveway.
